Privacy Policy

What information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information The Wonder Curriculum collects, why, and what rights you have. We're the data controller for the information described here. If you have any questions, email us at [email protected].

What we collect

  • When you buy from us: your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number if you give it, and details of what you ordered. Card details are handled by our payment providers and we never see them in full.
  • When you join the Wonder Family or start a plan: your email address, your plan, your lesson credits and the lessons in your Wonder Vault, plus anything you choose to add in the app, such as your family's details or learning records.
  • When you sign up for emails or contact us: your name, email address and anything you write in your message.
  • When you use our website: basic technical information such as your browser, device and the pages you visit, collected through cookies and similar technology.

How we use it

  • To process your orders, deliver your books and give you access to your lessons and plan (because we need to, to fulfil our contract with you).
  • To answer your messages and provide customer support (our legitimate interest in helping you).
  • To send you our newsletter and news about new lessons, if you've signed up (with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by clicking "unsubscribe").
  • To keep our website and app secure, prevent fraud and understand how they're used, so we can improve them (our legitimate interests).
  • To keep records we're legally required to keep, such as for tax (a legal obligation).

Children's information

Our products are for families, but our website, shop and accounts are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information directly from children. Any details about your children that you add to the Wonder Family app are added by you, as their parent or carer, and are used only to provide the app to your family.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only with trusted companies that help us run The Wonder Curriculum, who may only use it to provide their service to us:

  • Shopify, which runs our shop, checkout and payments, along with its payment partners such as PayPal and Klarna if you choose them;
  • Green Website Digital, which builds and hosts our website and the Wonder Family app, sends our emails, and receives messages sent through our contact forms;
  • delivery companies, so they can deliver your books.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

Some of these companies are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your information is transferred abroad, it's protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

Cookies and analytics

We only use cookies and similar browser storage that our website needs to work, for example to remember what's in your cart and keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

We use Cabin to understand how many people visit our website. Cabin doesn't use cookies or collect any personal information.

Some pages include videos and podcasts from YouTube, Vimeo and Spotify. These only load when you choose to play them, and those services may then set their own cookies, under their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

  • Order records: for 6 years, as required for tax and accounting.
  • Your Wonder Family account: for as long as it's open. If you ask us to delete it, we'll do so, except for records we have to keep by law.
  • Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe.
  • Messages you send us: for as long as we need them to help you, and no longer than 2 years after we last hear from you.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct anything that's wrong;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • object to or ask us to limit how we use it;
  • ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere;
  • withdraw your consent to emails at any time.

To use any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We'll reply within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
